Welcome back to my podcast where this month I’m joined by the mighty Chris Fortier. Known as one of the most respected and liked DJ’s on the circuit Chris has been there, seen it and done it all. From his early days at the infamous club ‘Aazh’ in Orlando where he brought the likes of Sasha, John Digweed and Dave Seaman to the U.S for the first time through to his massive affiliation with Bedrock, residency at Twilo and his hugely respected label Fade Records. Chris’ tireless work ethic, ability to move with the times and sheer love for what he does has ensured he is still one of the biggest and most influential DJ’s on the planet…. ENJOY……. I'll be kicking things off for the first 36 minutes (to be precise) then it's Chris all the way. Tim Tim Cook warm up hotmix 1.Jeff Bennett – Plumes (Stickroth & Ercolino mix)

About TimTim has always been into his music and started playing drums when he was 16. Tim’s passion for music eventually saw him introduced to a set of turntables. From this point on Tim was hooked! He soon tired of mixing his mate’s stock of Old School Hardcore and Jungle, which at the time ruled club land, and began doing what he still does today; searching for something a little different. If you’re into putting dance music into genres then Tim’s record bag is in a class of its own. It’s evolved and matured since those first ‘bedroom sessions’ and reflects his love of the drums with tough, chunky beats, dirty, deep and dark, always underground, always with a bass line that gets you moving and very much his own style. 5 years ago saw the birth of ‘Cartel’. Tim started putting on free parties with DJ and mate Tommy Mundell at a small local venue because they wanted to play their own brand of cutting edge music in a sea of hard house. Today Cartel has a third member, former Bedrock resident Phil ‘Moonface’ Thompson. The boys are still committed to keeping it underground. 2003 saw Tim get into producing his own stuff and so far he hasn’t done too badly with his productions gaining support from the likes of Gregor Treshor, Oliver Huntemann, Sian, Craig Richards, Jeff Samuel, Rui Da Silva, Chris Fortier, Mark Henning, Paco Osuna, Xpansul, Billy Dalessandro, Dj Three, Andrew Grant, Pig and Dan, Nick Warren and Hernan Catteneo, it’s no wonder they have been snapped up by labels such as massive underground imprint Railyard Recordings, Chris Fortier’s Fade Records and Rui Da Silva’s Kismet Records.
